Funding for the project is provided by the EU Karelia ENPI CBC Programme, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the project's main partner, the Finnish Game and Fisheries Research Institute, and its other partners, Metsähallitus Natural Heritage Services, Ostrobothnia, and the Institute of Biology at the Karelian Research Centre of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The project had a total budget of about €500,000.
