The final product of the Finnish-Russian wild forest reindeer project (2013-2014) is a Plan of action for wild forest reindeer, dealing with the results of the project, and the essential reports and future plans for population management of wild forest reindeer in Karelia and Kainuu.

In Finland, 800 individuals in Kainuu, 2000 individuals in Suomenselkä and about 20 individuals in Seitseminen and Lauhanvuori National Parks (reintroduced populations).
